One of the great things about international travel is that you are never quite sure if your luggage will arrive at the same venue or around the same time as you. Why is this great ? If by chance it doesn’t arrive, there is a certain advantage about being a female and being in Paris. And in fact, after being 20 hours in transit dragging my not so subtely marked OVERWEIGHT, HEAVY, CARRIER MAY RECEIVE HERNIA warning notices posted kindly by the air carrier on my luggage there was a sense of relief to finally offload it at Heathrow. NB must remember to write note to Heathrow to ask why in their wisdom they located the departure terminal so far from the arrival terminal that you may as well drag your luggage to France itself:
